Needlework is a broad term for the handicrafts of decorative sewing and textile arts. Anything that uses a needle for construction can be called needlework. The definition may expand to include related textile crafts such as a crochet hook or tatting shuttles. Similar abilities often transfer well between different varieties of needlework, such as fine motor skill and a knowledge of textile fibers. Some of the same tools may be used in several different varieties of needlework. For instance, a needle threader is useful in nearly all needlecrafts. Types of needlework

Q. is it awkward for a an 18 yr .old male to want to spend time knitting/needlework,etc,a ll this stuff that vast majority of guys see it as 100 % girly ?? Asked by fluevog - Thu Dec 18 07:08:16 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yeah, one of my sister's friends did. He was pretty good a it. But it is "girly" like hunting is "manly". It comes from very old traditions on the man hunting for food because the family NEEDED it and the woman making the family's clothes. We are well beyond having to make our own clothes or having to hunt to survive. Throw out the tradition.
