using grounded boats as markers and keeping in clear wind Suddenly we saw the Skallies way off to leeward We tried to avoid tacking for starboard tack boats but ducked them instead We followed round Ryde sands but then decided to go for Cowes We could see Needle Work anothe HRSC boat down to leeward At some point they must have realised that they had gone too far

you that helped me by taking part in the survey I held in the last newsletter The results made me put my thinking cap on and you may have started to notice some additions to the website I realised that almost all the techniques I had covered so far had been counted needlework and that surface embroidery or free embroidery had been for the most part ignored In an effort

What is the best way to get wrinkles out of cross-stitched material?
Q. I have finished a cross-stitch pattern but there are many wrinkles in it. I have heard that it isn't good to iron this material after you have done the needlework. Does anyone know the proper way to get the wrinkles out?

A. To get wrinkles out of a finished item, here's what you do. Put a thick towel on your ironing board (one layer only). Lay your item face down on the towel. Lightly mist with water. Press out the wrinkles using a temperature approbate for the material. NEVER press on the front and never press it on any surface except a towel !!! When you use this procedure, you won't crush down the stiching you have done.
